Send in the crowns because Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker has become the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. Joker currently sitting at a massive $785.5 million as per Forbes at the worldwide box office defeated Ryan Reynold’s 2016 red-spandex wearing antihero Deadpool at the box office which collected a whopping $783m at the worldwide box office.
Responding to the news of his defeat by the Clown Prince of Crime, Ryan Reynolds has a Deadpool thing or two to saw to Joker. Tweeting a very Ryan Reynolds’ tweet, the Deadpool star tweeted, "R-Rated box office congratulatory posts aren't like the ones you're used to..." with a picture of Joker in the epic star-climbing scene that has now become a tourist spot for many of the Todd Phillips movie fans.

The film has been critically-acclaimed, swooping the Golden Lion (a highly prestigious award, generally a precursor to a Best Picture Oscar nomination), at the Venice Film Festival. A report by NME also suggested that Joker leads the Oscar 2020 race with odds of 9/4 tailed by Tom Hanks’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood with odds of 3/1 for his role while Taron Egerton has a 10/3 chance for his acclaimed turn as Elton John in Rocketman and Antonio Banderas has a 7/2 shot for Pain and Glory.
