Ryan Reynolds narrowly escaped being turned into a human sandwich when the barricades holding the die-hard fans came crashing down. The Deadpool star was promoting his upcoming film Free Guy at the Comic Con Experience in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday, December 7, when he jumped down off stage to greet fans. In an attempt to get close to the Canadian actor, the overwhelming fans flocked to the barricade causing it to break. Videos captured from the event sees Reynolds quickly jumping back from the chaos and saving himself from possible mobbing.

Security rushed over to the Canada native, who brushed himself off before hopping back down to check on the fans.
Reynolds’ upcoming Free Guy revolves around a guy named Guy (Reynolds) who suddenly discovers he is a non-playable character in a video game world.
"We really wanted to bring to the world a modern day Back to the Future for modern generations," Reynolds told the crowd further joking that the movie is "my favorite movie I've ever made, and that means a lot to me because I made Deadpool."
Free Guy also stars Jody Comer (Killing Eve), Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Utkarsh Amdudkar (Pitch Perfect) and Lil Rel Howery (Get Out). It was directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and written by Zak Penn (Ready Player One) and Matt Lieberman.
Free Guy releases on July 3, 2020.
