One of the few movies that truely lived up to its hype, Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix is all cinema-lovers could talk about at the moment. Delivering one of his finest performances as Arthur Fleck, Phoenix’s movie is getting all the praise from another DC star, Zachary Levi. The Shazam star taking it to his social media poured out his heart to show his appreciation for the Todd Phillips movie calling it an ‘excellent cinema’.
"Believe the hype. Don’t believe the hype. Doesn’t matter. Just go see it. It’s how movies ought to be made’’ Levi gave the caption urging fans to go see ‘Joker’.
Setting a new record for the month of October, the Warner Bros. film raked in $96 million domestically — that's up from the studio's estimate of $93.5 million — and $151 million overseas for a global start of $247 million dethroning Tom hardy’s Venom which was the previous winner with $127.2 million.
Performing exceedingly well at the box office all internationally, also becoming the fourth-Best Weekend opening for an R-Rated Pic in the U.S. Topping the list is Deadpool ($132.4 million), followed by Deadpool 2 ($125.5 million), It ($123.4 million) and then Joker. Next are 2003's The Matrix Reloaded ($91.8 million) and It: Chapter Two, which debuted last month to $91.1 million.
