In case you didn’t know, Adam Driver has quietly been a father for over two years without us knowing. While rumours about the Kylo Ren star having a baby with wife Joanne Tucker emerged two years ago when Tucker’s sister posted about Joanne's pregnancy on Instagram that captioned, ‘babyshower’ and ‘new moms’, neither Driver nor Tucker made any official announcement about their new ‘blessing’ until recently.
An actor with roots in the Marines, Driver called the attempt to keep the baby secret “a military operation.”
“My job is to be a spy—to be in public and live life and have experience,” Driver told the writer Michael Shulman. “But, when you feel like you’re the focus, it’s really hard to do that.”
While Driver’s revelation about his son to a ‘military operation’ is not the hint we have been expecting, Adam has had made vague references to a child in a number of previous interviews. In a video for W magazine in 2017, he said: 'I look at my dog -- this sounds so absurd -- but it's not. I don't know if I can love anything more. Like, I have a kid, maybe -- and be like,
In another interview with his Logan Lucky co-star Channing Tatum, the pair were talking about mixing martinis when he said: 'I don't have parties, because the world is a sad place and full of anger.'
Channing joked, 'Can you imagine you're just making martinis for your baby’ to which Adam replied: 'Stop crying. This is my party trick. You'll have your time. This is me time now.' '
After becoming a fan-favourite as the main antagonist of The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, Driver, 35, returns as Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which is scheduled for a December 20 release.
