The dark side of the Force overpowers Rey in the last trilogy of the Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker trailer. After Disney showcased a teaser at the D23 Expo on Saturday in Anaheim, California, the trailer of the last of the Star Wars trilogy just dropped online and it is a celebration of all the Star War movies of the ‘thousand generations’.
Watch the trailer here:
The two-minute trailer opens with all the iconic flashes of the previous Star Wars moments of the iconic stars such as the late Carrie Fisher’s Leia, Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca with a voiceover from the late Luke Skywalker telling Rey that there have been “a thousand generations, but this is your fight.”
The biggest reveal however gets revealed when we are shown Rey wearing a dark cloak and brandishing dual red lightsabers à la Darth Maul also wielded by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) after the Force takes hold of him.
Ridley admitted she was shocked that her character’s dark side reveal was included in the footage.
“I went to Bad Robot yesterday and I was like, ‘Hey, can I see the teaser’? They were like, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ No warning. And I watch, and went ‘Oh my god, are you really putting that in there?’ That was my reaction,” Ridley told CinemaBlend “And then watching it today, it was weird because I felt nervous with it coming because I knew it was going to be. And then hearing the audience reaction was amazing.”
“The Rise of Skywalker” is set to hit theaters Dec. 20.
