With Emily Clarke’s powerful performance as the Mother of Dragons, it is almost impossible to see the role as non-other than Clarke’s. But long before Clarke was casted as Daenerys Targaryen, Elizabeth Olsen aka Scarlet Witch from the Avenger’s movies reported that she auditioned to be the "Dracarys" order-giving khaleesi which apparently didn’t go well.
'It was the most awkward audition I'd ever had,' the 30-year-old actress told Vulture on Friday of the role that eventually went to Emilia Clarke.
Olsen went on to add that despite not getting the role, the audition was one of many she went on at the dawn of her acting career before eventually appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbusters as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
'When I first started working, I just auditioned for everything, because I like auditioning,' she said. 'And I auditioned for Khaleesi. I forgot that.'
Olsen, further adds that producers 'didn't know if they wanted a British accent or not' for the role, so she gave her best shot both ways.
'It was terrible,' Olsen recalled. 'Anytime someone says, "Bad audition story." That's one I remember’’ she adds.
Olsen said that despite the ‘embarrassing’ attempt, she is a big fan of the HBO series.
'I'm just so deep in Game of Thrones that all I can think about is Kit Harington,' Olsen said. 'I mean, he's just brainwashed me.'
Froom auditioning for the Mother of Dragons role to ending up as the Scarlet Witch, it looks like Olsen wont’ be worrying about her profession anytime soon. Apart from appearing in MCU films including Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Olsen also appeared in 2011's Martha Marcy May Marlene, 2014's Godzilla.
