We were great friends: Bryan Adams on romance rumours with Princess Diana

For the first time, singer Bryan Adams addressed his rumoured relationship with Princess Diana, saying they were nothing more than “great friends”.

The singer’s 1985 song Diana had sparked speculation that he was reportedly dating the British royal. However, the 58-year-old singer cleared the air in a recent appearance in Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Earlier, Diana’s butler Paul Burrell had claimed that he used to “sneak” Adams into Kensington Palace, the royals residence.

“There are many rumours that you and Princess Diana were once romantically involved. Her butler said that he used to sneak you into Kensington Palace. How would you characterise your relationship with Princess Diana?” Cohen asked Adams. To this, the singer replied, “Great friends. And she didn’t sneak me in, I would just roll up.”

When Cohen asked if they were “friends with benefits”, Adams denied the speculations, saying “We were good friends”.
