Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is all set to helm the hat of a producer for a film based on Peter  Kornbluh's Politico article "'My Dearest Fidel': An ABC Journalist's Secret Liaison With Fidel Castro.
Interestingly, the Israeli actress might also star in the upcoming project, a report in Variety suggested.
Warner Bros Studio has acquired the film rights for Birds of Prey producer, Sue Kroll on behalf of Kroll & Co Entertainment. Kroll will team up with Gadot and Jaron Varsano to develop the material.
The reportage will chronicle the previously untold story of how ABC journalist Lisa Howard engaged in what Peter  Kornbluh described as intimate diplomacy with Fidel Castro.
Howard, who also had a career as a soap opera actress, was ABC’s first full-time female news reporter and became a major asset in the establishment of a top-secret channel between the United States and Cuba to discuss reconciliation after the 1962 Cuban Missile CrisisÂ
Lisa Howard breathed her last in 1965 due to an overdose of painkillers.
"When I first read Peter's article, I was entranced by his thrilling account of a complicated, fascinating woman in the midst of a high-stakes, real-life drama. I knew immediately that I had to be involved creatively with telling Lisa Howard's story, and am thrilled to be producing this film with Sue", Gal Gadot in a statement said.
"I'm so excited to bring this story to life with great creative partners in Gal, Jaron, Peter, and Chris. This is a remarkable true story, anchored by an incredible woman, and lends itself to a dramatic and thrilling cinematic experience’’, Sue Kroll added.
The subject of the upcoming flick looks promising and we just can't wait to see how it will turn out to be.
