Commando 2 review: Film fails to hold its audience, Vidyut Jammwal only delight

Vidyut Jammwal has impressed every one with his nail biting action stunts  and good looks. His new movies, Commando 2: The Black Money Trail has hit the theaters on Friday. His fans were eagerly waiting for the movie to see their favourite star indulging in some thrilling action sequences.

Commando 2 which is a remake of 2013 action film Commando: A one man army, is supposed to be highly action packed and before you rush to theaters nearby, we have brought you some quick reviews.

Take a look....

The Times of India: Vidyut Jammwal is a solid action star and his stunts are the only reason you manage to sit through this never-ending tale of 'catch-Vicky Chadda-if-you-can'. The opening scene is spectacular. Sadly, the cat and mouse game between the cops and the criminal is not one bit exciting as the story pretends to be more intelligent than it is. Barring Esha Gupta's ravishing looks and permanent smirk, nothing quite stands out in the film. Even decent action cannot salvage this dreary supposed crime thriller.

Firstpost: It might be natural to assume that the tale of a government-appointed, trigger-happy action junkie on the trail of a murderous, black-money-laundering villain would be a fun ride, especially with His Royal Hotness, His Muscular Majesty Vidyut Jammwal in the driver's seat.
The film's impressive action scenes and pretty hero cannot compensate for its limited substance, which matters particularly because the action is not unrelenting. While Karan is bashing up baddies, it is hard to look away from the screen. When he is not, it becomes easy.

Hindustan Times:  Commando 2 heavily relies on Jammwal’s stunts. Last time, his victory looked applaud-worthy because of a really frightening villain but this time he doesn’t have a good match. He has performed his stunts but the intensity is missing. Too many twists hamper the film’s chances even more. Apart from Jammwal, only Adah Sharma is notice-worthy as a Gucci loving, trigger happy cop from Hyderabad. Commando 2 lacks heart and is all muscles. If may not even quench your thirst for some adrenaline-pumping stunts.

News18: Directed by Deven Bhojani, Commando 2 revolves around the story of a man, skilled in hand-to-hand combat and weaponry, who sets out on a mission to eradicate black money. The film, starring Vidyut Jammwal, Adah Sharma and Esha Gupta in pivotal roles, is a sequel to the 2013 film Commando: A One Man Army.  It's about how Vidyut's character Karan hunts down India's most- wanted black money agent Vicky Chadha and brings back all the laundered black money. The running time of action sequences will be the only time you might enjoy. Nothing else really drives it forward.
