New Delhi:

'Ghayal Once Again', sequel to 1990's super-hit drama Ghayal, presents the best of Sunny Deol we have experienced in his 33 year long career. From emotions to high-octane action there are ample offerings that stick to powerful acting of the cast.

The movie is all about bringing Sunny Deol back in his trademark angry young man avatar with more aggression and power. As film continues its journey from where it had left with Meenakshi Seshadri, the film is a treat for Sunny Deol fans who were eagerly waiting to see him performing on big screen.

This is also a path breaker. In a time when Sunny failed to impress much with his comic flair, this definitely brings him back in game like a star.

Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol) is out from jail after 16 years and is on a mission to save life of 4 brave kids who are being hunted by a powerful businessman with Home Minister in one pocket and judiciaries in other.

Raj Bansal (Narendra Jha), the big shot I just mentioned, played a character that keeps audience hooked to his power act. His calm expressions riding over the blood starved evil man are just incomparable to any other villain in the industry.

Sunny Deol is the saviour, he is the man who keeps audiences on edge of their seats. So far he had an aura of a man who shouts out loud on screen and makes things work but in this one it is his action which is roaring out loud to ensure he delivers substance.

When I say substance, the limit is not the expressions, but also quality performance sewed with death defying stunts. It is likely that some may found stunts unrealistic to actually believe on them but then its Bollywood fiction and some things shouldn’t be judged upon real takes.

The kids - Rohan (Shivam Patil), Anushka (Aanchal Munjal), Renu (Neha Khan), Zoya (Diana Khan) – have also justified their part. At some sequences they even go a step ahead to expectations. Apart from them the film features Soha Ali Khan, Tisca Chopra and Om Puri in main roles. Though their existence is still a big question mark on their talents. The actors who can mould a movie on their shoulders have not been given a space where they can even open their wings to perform.

The film is a disaster on musical nodes. There is barely any song which tries to entertain you. In a movie that is packed with thrill, it is difficult to push songs in between and it seems like even director failed to find a way to curb the issue. Ghayal Once Again has only one song - Lapak Jhapak – on the whole 128 minute run and even that fails to bring any inch of entertainment to audiences.

The film also struggles when it tries to establish the characters. There were so many characters with a flash of 90’s drama that leaves audiences scratching their head until Sunny takes over to calm all and focus on his part of story. After slow 15-20 minute run, movie picks pace and then its unstoppable till it reaches its desired destination.

Another good thing about the film remains with its shoot locations and props. There are not much of places which have been explored in it but even in the small carpet area there is massive room provided to stars to perform in the show.

Final Verdict: It’s all in all Sunny Deol movie which will surely enthral his fans.
