Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy, one of the most anticipated movies of the year 2019, hit the screens today. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film is an inspirational story from the dark reality of underground rappers Divine and Naezy.

Story: The film depicts the journey of a boy of Mumbai streets who dreams of becoming a famous rapper. Murad (Ranveer Singh) has been in a relationship with a lively young girl Safeena Firdausi (Alia Bhatt) since he was 13 years old. His life takes a turning point when he starts following a rapper named Shera in his college. Later, Ranveer also joins the rap battle and starts his journey of becoming one of the notable rappers of India. 

Acting: With back to back extraordinary performances in Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Simmba, Ranveer Singh is back to the silver screens with yet another striking performance. He has proved that there’s no one like him when it comes to versatility and great acting skills. His rapping skills are sure to steal your hearts. Alia Bhatt brings her effusive charm on screen in Gully Boy. However, she does not have a lot to do in the film. The supporting cast too is winning hearts. From Vijay Raaz as Murad's father to Sheeba Chaddha as Safina's mother, Zoya gets her characters right. 

Direction: Zoya Akhtar has done a fantastic job when it comes to direction From storyline to dialogues, everything is just right about the film. 

Music: The main star of the film is music. Two songs from the film Meri Gully Mein aur Apna Time Aayega are rapped to perfection by Ranveer. Singers have done a classy job with the soundtrack. People who are die-hard fans of Rap culture, this film is a perfect treat for them. 

In the end, we would like to say that Gully Boy has many exciting moments. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing along in the theatre.
