When there is a movie based on the underworld then ripples are bound to be created much before its release. This is what happened with Haseena Parkar, the biographical directed by Apoorva Lakhia as it could mint a mere Rs 1.87 crore on Day 1.
Shraddha Kapoor plays the titular role while her brother Siddhanth Kapoor portrays the role of Dawood Ibrahim. Ankur Bhatia plays the role of Haseena's husband.
A weak storyline coupled with concurrent release along with films like Newton and Bhoomi worked to the film’s disadvantage. Even though Haseena Parkar’s release date was pushed several times to avoid a clash with the other two big ones, the move didn’t seem to pay dividends, at least as of now. Â
