Mission Mangal Review: Akshay Kumar starrer is entertaining with prolific performance

Akshay Kumar has stunned us by portraying an array of characters, but this is the first time we see him playing the character of a nerdy scientist in the movie Mission Mangal that is in equal part different and heartwarming.

Based on the ‘Mars Orbiter Mission’ or Mangalyaan the story starts with a failed mission because of which Rakesh Dhawan (Akshay Kumar) gets transferred to Mars’ department. Vidya, on the other hand, is a scientist who fails to launch a rocket first, due to which there is a loss of crores.

Later, the two meet and hatched the ambitious plan to venturing into Mars that was thought to be impossible and obsolete. The film shows how the Mission Mars begins and how this special team is formed by adding one hero each. The four women scientists in the team who are not only from different cultures but also have different backgrounds.

After meeting these women, a perfect team is formed.Everyone knows the mission was accomplished, but the rest of the story depicts how these underdogs achieve the impossible.Akshay Kumar’s Rakesh Dhawan is impressive. His nerdy character is entertaining because of his quirky sense of humour, a speciality of all characters graced by Akki.

Vidya Balan, as always, is natural. Her charming presence and the command of playing with her expressions, make her a delight to watch.Nitya Menon has made her Bollywood debut with Mission Mangal. The actress is seen doing full justice to her character. At the same time, in the film, Vidya Balan not only fits into her character but also appears to be connected to all the characters.

The over characters are half baked and deserved more screen presence. We all know what they both are capable doing of, but yet again, they weren't explored much just adds to the storyline slightly.

This film based on patriotism will fill people with emotion and pride. Apart from this, Sonakshi Sinha is a treat to eyes. The story of Direct Mission Mangal is beautifully written by Jagan Shakti. In terms of direction, Jagan has neatly tied all the characters to each other, not one character.

On this occasion of August 15, you can enjoy the movie Mission Mangal and also feel the pain and the determination of our scientist to make such a distant dream a reality.
