Lydian Nadhaswaram, who won $1 million on the US reality show and wowed the music world as he played Mozart blindfolded at the Ellen DeGeneres show talked about the experience and the influence of his teachers and parents. Oscar winner and music mogul AR Rahman hailed the 13-year-old Chennai boy who is also a student in the KM Music Conservatory that Rahman runs calls the child prodigy ‘The World’s Best’.
"When I see Lydian, it gives me hope. He should be the answer to Chinese pianist Lang Lang. I think he will be India's musical ambassador," Rahman said during the sidelines of the 11th-anniversary celebrations of his music school. "I feel like Lydian's success is mine. Chennai is an ignored city and I'm thankful to Lydian for having given it worldwide recognition," Rahman congratulates according to The Hindu.
The 13-year-old prodigy while addressing his ‘success’, which he says is his first competition adds that he would want to make independent albums and become a music composer. He also shed light on his hopes of being part of Elon Musk's Space X's programme in 2023, which will take a few musicians to the moon. "My dream is to play the piano in the moon," he adds.
