Ari, who has never shied away from talking about her mental illness shared a series of posts to her Instagram story with one being a quote from Jim Carrey about depression. "Depression is your body saying, 'I don't want to be this character anymore. I don't want to hold up this avatar that you've created in the world. It's too much for me,'" the quote read.
It continues, "You should think of the word 'depressed' as 'deep rest.' Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character that you've been trying to play." Under the quote, Grande expressed her fandom of Carrey writing, "The whole LOML
Grande, which according to W Magazine has had her admiration for Carrey since her 4th grade wrote. ‘’I Love You So Much’ for the Ace Ventura actor.
For the unadulterated, Carrey, who is seen as the funny guy for most of his onscreen avatar has long battled with depression, anxiety. Hence, it doesn’t come much a surprise for Ari to find a buddy in Carrey during this time of dark cloud.
The 25-year-old, last week told her fans she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder posting images of her brain scan. Ari, according to Mirror UK, is "still dealing with the effects" of the Manchester bombing which shook the world during her concert in 2017.
