R&B singer Chris Brown has landed himself in trouble again. According to sources, the With You singer has been arrested in Paris following a rape accusation, police said on Tuesday. French officials said that Brown and two others are in custody following rape accusations by a woman in northwest Paris in a five-star hotel after meeting her in a nightclub.
The arrests were first reported by French tabloid Closer, which said the three were arrested after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at Brown's hotel suite on the night of January 15. Police say one of the accused is Brown's own bodyguard.
Following the allegations, the singer has been arrested and remains in custody while police probe the complaint. Prosecutors in the French capital confirmed that Brown may face criminal charges after the alleged sex attack a week ago.
“He is accused of a rape and is being held at the judicial police offices in the 1st arrondissement,” said a prosecuting source.
“He was arrested with two others on Monday, and interviews and other enquiries are ongoing. The offence is said to have taken place on the night of January 15 this year.”
Brown and his representative are yet to respond to the rape allegation.
In 2009, Brown was also arrested for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna in 2009. He pleaded guilty to a felony and was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counseling, and six months of community service.
