While the album is an electric musical mix and focuses on love and relationships, Farhan describes Echoes as "a powerful and emotive journey into the pain of guilt".

Talking about the song which the actor himself had penned it, Farhan reveals the inspiration behind it in a release.

"After the 2014 massacre in Peshawar in Pakistan, when the Taliban stormed into an army school and shot over 200 children - I read an article about a mother whose younger son hadn't gone to school that day because he'd pretended to be sick but his older sibling had gone and got killed in the massacre," Farhan said.
The actor-singer delved deeper into the perspective of the younger boy in the incident.
"When I read that story I thought it must be such a strange dilemma for a young boy- 'that could have been me in place of my brother' he must have thought. So, that thought got me writing, and I wrote 'Why Couldn't It Be Me' from the perspective of that younger brother," the actor added.

Farhan also shared his desire to push his music career and how he found healing through the making of the album.
"Over the last two years I was just working on films non-stop. So, I felt that I needed some time out for myself, to reconnect with other things, to look at where my life's at. I wanted to channel what I was feeling, and put it out there, just to share it with people and I found that process very cathartic."
In September, Farhan released his first English single Rear View Mirror. He also relased his first Hindi single - Jaane Ye Kyun Kiya, which garnered immense appreciation from listeners and fans across the world.
Farhan made his entry into Bollywood with Rock On!! in which he revealed not only his acting talent but also as a fine musician. Since then, there has been no looking back. Farhan has been performing in shows both at home and abroad.
On the acting front, Farhan will be next seen with Priyanka Chopre in The Sky Is Pink.
