Kanika Kapoor Confirms Reports Of Testing Positive For COVID-19; Clarifies She Developed Symptoms Four Days Ago

After reports of Kanika Kapoor becoming the first Bollywood celeb to test positive for COVID-19 shocked the music industry, the popular playback singer in an official statement confirmed the news. Kanika, however, cleared that she has come back from London 10 days ago and developed symptoms four days back opposing claims that hid at airport bathroom and sneaked out.

In her post, the ‘Baby Doll’ singer mentioned that she and her family are under complete quarantine and are following the doctor’s advice on how to treat the condition. She has also mentioned that all the people she was in contact with are also being mapped. Reports claimed that the 41-year-old singer had hosted a part comprising of 200 invitees that included politicians, businessmen, and bureaucrats.

She then advised her followers to listen to medical experts and government authorities. “At this stage, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives. Wishing everyone good health. Jai Hind !Take care,” shared Kanika.

Hello everyone, For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway aswell. I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure 10days ago when I came back home, the symptoms have developed only 4 days ago. At this stage I would like to urge you all to practice self isolation and get tested if you have the signs. While talking to AajTak Kanika refuted claims that she sneaked out of airport without going through proper medical procedure. On the contrary she claimed that she pro-actively called the Luncknow Chief Medical officer and informed about the condition.
