Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Breach Candy hospital on 11 November, 2019 after she complained of breathing difficulties. Her PR team had issued a statement saying, ''Lata Mangeshkar ji had a viral chest congestion. Keeping her age in mind, as a precautionary measure, she has checked in to Breach Candy Hospital in order to ensure antibiotics on time to prevent any more infection. She is stable and recovering.''
Now according to our sources, the veteran singer is doing fine and she also took meal. The source further informed that she will be discharged from the hospital soon.
Lata Mangeshkar’s family in an earlier statement had said, ''Lata di is fine and progressing steadily. Request members of the media to please not give vent to rumours. Thank You for standing by us.’’ Recently, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray visited the singer at the breach Candy hospital and told reporters that she will be discharged in two to three days.
Meanwhile, Mangeshkar has lent her voice for thousands of songs in Hindi, regional and foreign languages. Her last full album was for the late filmmaker Yash Chopra-directed 2004 film Veer Zaara. Mangeshkar recorded her latest song this year - Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki, which was released on March 30 as a tribute to the Indian Army.
Born on September 28, 1929, Lata Mangeshkar has been awarded the Bharat Ratna, highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2001. In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in the history. She had reportedly sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974.
