Liam Payne who has been a member of the boy band, One Direction since 2015 opens up about how the band shoot to success. The 25-year-old star who shot to fame in 2010 after the band comprised of Liam, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson was formed on Simon Cowell's TV show 'The X Factor' and talks about the band’s success which he calls it, ‘Dumb Luck’.
Sitting down with Men's Health Australia, Liam said, "It literally was the perfect storm. There were so many scenarios that had to fall into line for that to happen. It's not something that can easily be recreated or probably ever will be because of the way the Internet was kicking off, the way 'The X Factor' kicked off. I just think it was just dumb luck."
The singer recently also got candid about his One Direction days, and his battle with anxiety during an interview with Esquire Middle East. The “For You” singer dished during a new interview added, “I would never leave the house. And I do sometimes suffer with it a bit in the sense that I’ll get days where I just don’t want to leave my house. Even if it’s just going to the shop. I’d be going to order a coffee at Starbucks and I would sweat because I wouldn’t know whether I was doing the right thing or not.
He also admitted that the music industry has vastly changed since One Direction went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016 so that the members could focus on their solo careers. Talking about his time in 1D, the singer added, ‘’ "I mean it was fun. We had an absolute blast but there were certain parts of it where it just got a little bit toxic’’.
