Queen, the rock band is now richer than the actual Queen of England herself. According to Daily Mail, the rock band which is now survived by band members, Brian May, 71, Roger Taylor, 69, and John Deacon, 67, is valued more than the sitting British Monarch partially thanks to the success of the Oscar award winner biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody starring Rami Malek as the legendary Freddie Mercury.

The three rockers Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon are now valued at a joint fortune of £445million, largely due to the 2018 box office smash hit Bohemian Rhapsody. While for Queen Elizabeth, she is reported to have £370million to her name, The Sunday Times Rich List reports.

The band are thought to have made £25million each this year alone after the biopic earned a whopping $896.4million (£680.4million) globally against a budget of just a budget of £40m.

However, this is not to limit the legacy of the British rock band to the Oscar movie itself though the movie did help redeem the legacy that was already made. Some of the money made can be attributed to streaming and record sales, as old Queen songs charted after audiences had watched Bohemian Rhapsody.

In fact, the title song was recently named as the most streamed song of the 20th Century.

An insider reportedly told the Daily Mail: "They will be massively in profit. Because Queen Films made the film, they are quite high up the waterfall of money that cascades down from the film."

"This film was created and managed by Queen, which means they can protect their share. I would expect the studio to get around 50 per cent and the rest to go to the surviving Queen members and the Freddie Mercury estate."

Rami Malek won the Best Actor Oscar, and Bafta, for his portrayal of Freddie, and it also won best film at the  Golden Globes.
