Ranu Mondal REACTS To Daughter's Claim That Her Manager Is Misusing Her Money

Viral singing sensation Ranu Mondal has been the talk of the tinsel town. From recording her first song with Himesh Reshammiya to getting calls from AR Rahman, the hype around Ranu and her story of overnight fame refuse to fade away anytime soon.

Recently, in a dark turn of events Ranu Mondals' daughter, Elizabeth Sathi Roy accused the club that made her singing video viral of mishandling her and taken advantage of her fame. She also claimed that Ranu’s manager, and the members of Ranaghat’s Amra Shobai Shoitaan club, who are taking care of her mother, have threatened her not to contact Ranu or else they will “break my leg”.

Ranu has finally broken her silence on the matter. In an interview with Hindustan Times Ranu revealed that she had no knowledge of  her daughter Sathi being threatened by her manager Atindra.

“I think there’s some misunderstanding or maybe someone is provoking to say all these things. Atindra (the man who shared Ranu’s video on social media) and Tapan (Das; a club member) are taking good care of me. I’m unaware of them threatening Sathi,” Ranu said.

Sathi has also accused that the club members of misusing her mother’s money that she received from a kids’ singing reality show when she was noticed by Himesh Reshammiya. “

Reacting to the charges of robbing her money, Ranu said, “Being an artist, money isn’t something that concerns me. Getting the opportunity to sing is more than enough. Also, to survive we all need food, proper clothes and a decent place to stay; by God’s grace, I have all that now. Yes, they had taken Rs 10,000 but then that was used in buying household stuff, clothes, cooking gas and travel fares. It’s very important to trust people and I do that.”

Ranu's manager Atindra reacting to the accusation made by her daughter said, "Where was she (Sathi) all these years? I understand that she would send Rs 200 or Rs 500 to Ranuji from time to time. But is that enough? Ranuji used to sing at Ranaghat station and would loiter around in the lanes and bylanes of Kolkata, why didn’t her daughter do something then? She is clearly trying to malign us,” he retorts.

Meanwhile, Ranu Mondal's inspiration Lata Mangeshkar has reacted to her singing capabilities and overnight fame.  In an interview to IANS, she said, "Agar mere naam aur kaam se kissiko bhala hota hai toh main apne-aap ko khush-kismat samajhti hoon (If anyone gets benefited from my name and work then I feel fortunate)." She added that Ranu’s 'imitation' might get her fame for a while but that is not going to last forever.
