Did Vijay Deverakonda refuse Karan Johar's offer of Bollywood debut?

New Delhi:

Karan Johar recently settled a mind-blowing deal with South India actor Vijay Deverakonda  for the Hindi remake rights for ‘Dear Comrade’ by paying Rs 6 crore that according to sources is the highest-ever fees paid for movie from down South.

Now according to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the actor has refused the maverick film-maker of Bollywood's offer to make his grand debut to the industry. Belive it or not but the actor refused to be Dharma Productions next hero. 

According to the reports, ahead of the release, the Arjun Reddy star met Karan Johar in Mumbai  where the Dharma scion was apparently keen on convincing Deverakonda to make his Bollywood debut. He even offered a staggering  Rs 40 crore to the Telugu actor for was not able to convince him. 

Earlier, he was also offered to play the lead role in Arjun Reddy's Hindi remake, Kabir Singh. But, the Telugu actor was not interested in playing the same role again.

Earlier in an interview with Anupama Chopra he confessed that Mumbai is too fast for him and hates the attentions papps give to Bollywood celebs.

When asked if he would do Hindi films, the actor said, "Doing Hindi (films) is interesting but I want to do something that is Telugu and Hindi. Something that works back home and here. I can't see myself shifting here at an apartment as my friends are back home. I love the laid back, lazy lifestyle. I can't work with 5 guys every day photographing me. It serves the purpose, but I don't think I would like it every day and I think Mumbai is too fast for me. I like to do things on my own terms."

Meanwhile, Devekondav after recieving rave reviews for Dear Comrade is awaiting the release of director Kranti Madhav's upcoming venture.
