The first look of Kamal Haasan’s much-anticipated Tamil film, Indian 2 is finally out. Director Shankar shared the poster today, wishing ‘Happy Pongal’ to his fans. He tweeted the poster saying, ''#indian2 Hi everyone! “Happy Pongal.''
In the poster, Kamal Haasan seems all set to take on the corrupt once again. Haasan plays Senapathy, the old man from the original Indian, again. Shankar, in an interview recently said that he got goosebumps seeing Kamal Haasan as Senathipathi. "All I can say is that he is on a roll. When we saw Kamal Haasan in the old man look, it gave me goosebumps. I was so excited and kept thinking how would the audience react after seeing one of their favourite characters on screen after 25 years. It was a great feeling," said Shankar.

This could be the last film of Haasan as he had earlier said that he would soon quit acting and will spend all his time for his political career and work for the welfare of the people. According to a PTI report, he had said, ''I will have to wind up to be effective as a politician... you have to dedicate time totally (for politics). But I will have my production company continuing in the field. Somebody else will run it.''
Those who don’t know, Indian was selected by India as its entry for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards in 1996, but failed to get nominated. The film starred Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar as the female leads opposite Kamal. While the music was composed by AR Rahman. Meanwhile, the film is set to go on floors on January 18, 2019.
Kajal Aggarwal has also confirmed her casting in Indian 2. She tweeted, “New journey, new experiences… Excited and looking forward to joining the sets of #Indian2 :)@shankarshanmugh @ikamalhaasan.â€

Apart from Kajal and Kamal, the film might also star Nedumudi Venu, Dulquer Salmaan and Simbu.
