Renowned Malayalam actor-director Sreenivasan has been hospitalised after he complained of acute breathlessness on Wednesday morning. The actor was immediately rushed to a hospital in Ernakulam and was put on a ventilator. According to the statement given by one of the doctors, Sreenivasan had suffered from a small heart failure as well as low blood pressure. He also had water filled inside his lungs.
Sreenivasan was reportedly dubbing for a new movie at a private studio when he developed uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital nearby at 9.46 a.m. A medical bulletin issued by the hospital later in the day said that the “patient is in the ICU with ventilatory support, hemodynamically stable.”
“The patient was hemodynamically unstable on presentation, suggestive of acute left ventricular failure, warranting admission to the intensive coronary care unit where he was intubated and ventilated in view of his poor oxygen saturation. He is being treated by a team of specialists,” the medical bulletin said.
The statement further read, ''Professional diagnosis: Accelerated hypertension, Acute LVF on a previously diagnosed patient with Hypertension, Diabetes, IHD, Old CVA. At present, patient is in the ICU with ventilatory support, hemodynamically stable.''
Sreenivasan is one of the most talented and versatile of the Malayalam film industry. He was last seen in the film Njan Prakashan which starred Fahadh Faasil. Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, the film was a hit at the Kerala box office.
