I have tears enjoying and I'm not even lying. Na sonna evanum namba poradhu illa, but #Petta is absolutely better than Baasha or Sivaji. Watch and you'll know what I mean. Phenomenal film. Interval now. I'm speechless.

Petta is Rajinikanth’s first Pongal release in 24 years. The film promises a throwback to the vintage Rajinikanth and seems to have ‘mass’ moments to suit the taste of his fans. On his views about the movie, Petta, Rajinikanth had expressed hope that the film would meet the expectations of the fans. 2018 has been lucky for Rajinikanth and his fans. His first release of the year Kaala fared well at the box-office, whereas 2.0 eared big bucks for the filmmakers at the box office. In Kaala, Rajinikanth played the role of a local goon operating out of Mumbai’s Dharavi slum area.
In 2.0, Rajinikanth reprised the roles of Dr Vaseegaran and robot Chitti, who team up to protect the human race from the wrath of Dr Pakshirajan, an ornithologist who was against the unregulated usage of cell phones as he believed it harmed the birds. Petta, on the other hand, appears to be very different from both, Kaala and 2.0, as it has more of drama and romance.
