Telugu cinema actor and director and Mahesh Babu's step-mom, Vijaya Nirmala passes away

Vijaya Nirmala, passed away on June 26th, 2019 midnight in Hyderabad at Continental hospitals, Gachibowli. The actress turned director aged 73, had a normal death.

Vijaya Nirmala is known for her works predominantly in Telugu cinema. She entered cinema with a Tamil movie Machcha Rekhai.

Vijaya Nirmala was born in Tamil Nadu. Her father had worked in film production. She has a son Naresh, who is also an actor, from her first marriage to Krishna Murthy. After divorcing her first husband, she married actor Krishna.

She has directed 44 films in Telugu. In 2002, she entered the Guinness Book of Records as the female director of the most films.

In 2008, she received the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for her contributions to Telugu cinema.
