Popular lyricist in the Telugu film industry, Indraganti Srikanth Sharma breathed his last on July 25. He artiste died of age-related illness in Hyderabad. He was aged 75 survived by his wife Janakibala, son Mohan Krishna, and a daughter.
Mohan Krishna is a well-known director in the Telugu film industry known for his films Grahanam, Mayabazar, Sammohanam among others.
Srikanth Sharma began his career as a journalist in the regional newspaper, Andhra Jyothi, and later joined the All India Radio, Vijayawada in 1976.
He started his career a lyricist in 1982 with Krishnavatharam, followed by Nelavanka in1983. He then went on to write the lyrics for several films like Rendu Jella Seetha, Puthadi bomma, and also for his son’s films such as Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha and Sammohanam.
His last work came with “Manasainadedo” that featured in Sammohanam starring Sudheer Babu and Aditi Rao Hydari. Recently Sammohanam star Amit Purohit too passed away.
The lyricist has also penned many short stories, plays, documentaries and poems to his credit. Devarakonda Balagangadhar Tilak, Telugu Kavula Aparadhalu, Yekantha Kokila, Inti Peru Indraganti and Malavika are some of his notable books.
Several people from the Telugu film industry mourned Srikanth Sharma’s death and offered condolences.
