Veteran Marathi actor Jayram Kulkarni has passed away at the age of 88 in Pune due to age related health issues. The actor will be cremated today at the Vaikunth Crematorium.
Born in Barshi tehsil in Solapur district, the actor is known for Marathi films like Prem Deewane (1992), Zunz Tukhe Majhi (1992) and De Denandan ans was part of more than 150 films. Jairam Kulkarni played the role of police in many Mahesh Kothare's films. His last movie "Khel Aayushyacha" was released recently.
Kulkarni has also worked in Akashwani in Pune before venturing into a career in acting, where he came into contact with personalities from the fields of literature, theatre and film.

Jairam Kulkarni was survived by wife Hema Kulkarni and son Ruchir, who is a lawyer by profession. Son Pari actress Mrinal Dev-Kulkarni is his daughter-in-law.
