New Delhi:

Actor Vijay Deverakonda has started shooting for his next film with director Puri Jagannadh tentatively titled 'Fighter', the makers announced on Monday. Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta of Dharma Productions have joined the as-yet untitled project as production partners.

This will be a pan India film to be made in Hindi and all south Indian languages, a press release issued by the makers said. Deverakonda, best known for films such as "Arjun Reddy" and "Dear Comrade" underwent rigorous training and flew to Thailand to learn mixed martial arts and other fight forms.

The filmmakers have not let much out about the lead lady opposite the 'Arjun Reddy' actor, however, it was earlier reported that Janhvi Kapoor and Ananaya Panday are in the fray for the role. It was also speculated that the Dhadak actress was offered Rs 3.5 crore as remuneration. But it was later reported that she was finding it tough to juggle her dates for the movie, as she is busy with multiple projects. Hence, she walked out of the movie. The latest we hear is that Puri Jagannadh has approached Ananya Panday with the same offer and she has given her consent for it.

Actors Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Aali and Getup Srinu are also part of the cast. The film, presented by Dharma, billed as an actioner will be jointly produced by Jagannadh, Johar, Mehta and Charmme Kaur.
