Kapil Sharma to return with ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ on THIS date (Twitter)
Comedian Kapil Sharma, who has been away from the screen space and limelight for quite some time now is expected to return on small screen at Christmas eve this year. A source close to Mumbai Mirror said that Kapil is all geared up to make his return with the new season of his popular talk show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. If sources are to be believed, the comedian has roped in with Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakravarti, Bharti Singh, Chandan Prabhakar and Kiku Sharda for the new project. The show will be aired on Sony TV from December 23.
The source also revealed that the format of the show will be similar to his old show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and will be constructed in Mumbai’s Film City Studios. The source said, “The set will have houses and a market place where the various characters will interact’’.
In the last month, the channel issued a statement clearing the air about the return of the popular comedy show. Even, Kapil also tweeted about his return and wrote, “Jald wapas aa raha hoon ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ lekar aap ke liye sirf Sony TV par’’. Recently, as per some media reports, there were reports that Salman Khan turns into a peacemaker between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover for the upcoming project, as he is also the producer of the new season.
‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ went off-air last year after subsequent drop in the ratings due to the walkout of most of the star cast of the show. This all started after a mid-air spat between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover where Kapil had reportedly throwed a shoe at Sunil over a pity issue.
Even, Kapil Sharma’s second movie which was produced under his production house failed to impress the audience and failed miserably at the box-office.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see the Kapil Sharma returing to the small screen after gap of several months along with some of his old colleagues in the industry.
