Every month several shows are launched on the small screen but very few are able to create a mark among the audience. Television channels usually launch several shows post the conclusion of Indian Premiere League every year to rejig their programming and 2018 is no different.
New shows like Naagin 3, Mariam Khan-Reporting Live will soon start beaming on the small screen. One of the popular daily soaps on Star Plus, Naamkarann will make way for Saurabh Tiwari’s new show Krishna Chali London.
The Aditi Rathore and Zain Imam starrer is expected to air its last episode on May 18 and the new show will hit the airwaves from May 21.
It seems two other shows will also bid adieu to the viewers post IPL 2018, if a recent report in Indianwikimedia is to be believed. The two daily soaps in question are Laado-Veerpur Ki Mardaani and Rishta Likhege Hum Naya.
Laado season 2, which was launched with great expectations on Colors, failed to garner good ratings for the channel. Despite boasting of a stellar cast in the form of Meghna Malik, Avika Gor and Shaleen Malhotra, the show couldn’t connect with the masses.
The exit of Meghna ‘Ammaji’ Malik and the frequent track changes didn’t help either. The report in the entertainment portal has suggested that the show would breathe its last by May end.
Sphere Origins new show based on extra marital affairs, will take the slot of Laado, as per the report. The upcoming romantic drama stars Drashti Dhami, Aham Sharma and Shakti Arora in lead roles.
Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya, which is the continuation of controversial show Pehredaar Piya Ki, will also wrap up soon on Sony Entertainment Television. A report in Indianwikimedia stated that the show couldn’t sustain its viewership and hence will be pulled off air on May 25.
Ram Kapoor’s much-awaited show Zindagi Crossroads is expected to take the prime-time slot on the channel.
