All is well between Disha Vakani and producer Asit Modi.
Disha Vakani, who is best known for portraying Daya Ben on the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been missing from the show for quite some time now. The actress was blessed with a baby girl in 2017 and since then she has been on a maternity break. After almost year and a half producer Asit Modi has cleared that if Disha doesn’t return to the show, they will, unfortunately have to look for her replacement.
When TOI contacted producer Asit Kumar Modi, he had said, "Daya's character is one of the important roles and we can't let her to be away from the show for such a long time. Daya is loved by people and audience want to see her. As far as Disha is concerned, we always supported her and have given her enough time to focus on her family life. We supported her when she wanted to be with her baby. She has been on a break for almost one and a half year now. We can't keep waiting, if she is willing to come she is more than welcome, but we have to take a call soon."
However, it seems that all is well between Disha and producer of the show. Disha recently shared a sweet picture on her Instagram handle from her wedding day. In the picture, Disha is seen standing right next to her husband, while Asit is seen performing rituals. She captioned the post as, "Love this picture."
Does this mean Disha is all set to return to the show? Well, let us know in the co0mments section below.
Reacting to the report that suggested Disha has been given an ultimatum of 30 days to return to the show, Asit had said, "There is no such one-month ultimatum thing but of course, we cannot wait longer. She needs to inform us as soon as possible for us to take a final call." The producer also maintained that, "We have cooperated a lot due to her [Disha] pregnancy but now it's been a huge sabbatical. If she returns, we are more than happy to have her back but she needs to make a decision soon. If she cannot return due to her 'family issues', we will have to replace her, for the audience who have waiting for Daya's return."
