Comedian Ali Asgar, popularly known for his role as ‘Nani’ in The Kapil Sharma Show met with an accident on Monday morning. As per some reports, he was driving the car and was the only one present in the car. However, he escaped unhurt and also thanked Mumbai police for handling the situation nicely. He took to Twitter to share the news and thank the police.
He wrote, "Just wanted to Thank Pydhonie Police Station..specially PSI Liladhar Patil for being warm understanding & helpful-my car met wit an accident but the way he handled the Situation is greatly Appreciated..Thank you PSI Patil ..Thank you @MumbaiPolice –Salute’’.
In a small talk with Times of India, the 52-year old actor said, "I was driving the car. The entire car is damaged. I was waiting at signal and suddenly I felt a loud thud and the next thing I realised, my car went ahead and hit a truck parked in front. By God's grace nothing happened. I dread to think what would have happened had it been a moving car or if there were people walking. Why this rash driving? I am shaken after this’’.
Ali Asgar is a popular name in television and film industry and has worked in several Bollywood films in 1990s including Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chamatkar, Khalnayak, Joru Ka Ghulam, Judwaa 2 and many more. He tasted fame when he was a part of popular comedy chat show The Kapil Sharma Show where played the role of ‘nani’.
Currently, Ali is not associated with Kapil’s show and was recently part of Sunil Grover’s show Kanpur Wale Khuranas.
