The Mumbai Police in Amboli area arrested a 32-year old cab driver for allegedly following and stalking television and film producer Ekta Kapoor from the last few months. As per a report by DNA, Ekta has been followed by the man named Sudhir Rajender Singh over 30 times in last few months and wanted to befriend her and also to work in her company.
A police offer after arresting the man said, “We received a complaint saying Kapoor had repeatedly tried to ignore the man, but he kept following her across the city. The most recent instance took place a few days ago, when Kapoor had gone to a temple in Juhu. Singh followed her and tried to approach her, but was stopped by Kapoor’s security guards’’.
In the past, Ekta’s security guards had also warned him to stay away but the man despite receiving warnings enrolled in the same gym, located in Andheri West where she goes to.
On March 16, the man followed Ekta into the gym but was spotted by her security personals after which she lodged a complaint with Amboli police under section 354 (D) of the Indian Penal Code and the police began the search for the man.

The police officer said, “We used technical surveillance to track him down to Veera Desai Road. During interrogation, we found out the number of times he had followed her. We need to find out how he got information about Kapoor’s whereabouts and schedule. We will submit a charge sheet soon’’.
The man was finllay arrested on Manrch 18, ie Monday.
Meanwhile, this was not the first time Bollywood and television celebs had a tough time in dealing with their stalkers. In the past, celebs including Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Sushmita Sen and many more has also faced similar situation.
