Ekta Kapoor recently wished Hina Khan a final goodbye as Komolika, the iconic TV vamp of Kasautii Zindagi Kay fame and soon twitter was shell shocked with her final exit. Hina Khan's fans couldn't quite fathom that fact that another actress to take her place. But after much speculation, the cat is finally out and actress Aamna Sharif has confirmed that she will [play the coveted role.

Aamna expressing her excitement for participation in the daily soap revealed that the role will challenge her the most as an actor. "The reason for the break was the need to reinvent my personal life. It would have been easy to stay in my comfort zone and come back with a love story, but that wouldn’t have satiated me as an actor. It’s always a different kind of rush to surprise your audience. So, when I was offered the role of Komolika, I instinctively knew that this is what will challenge me the most as an actor.” sad the Balaji actress of the early 2000s.
For the uninitiated, Aamna rose to fame with her role in the romance-drama show Kahiin Toh Hoga that also starred Rajiv Khandelwal and Surveen Chawla. Incidentally, Kahiin To Hoga was one of the prime competitors of the original Kasauti that starred Shweta Tiwari, Ronit Roy. Next Aamna took a big Bollywood leap and was part of movies like Aloo Chaat. Opposite Aftab Shivdasani and Ek Villain, opposite Ritiesh Deshmukh.
Earlier names of Karishma Tanna, Gauhar Khan, Jasmin Bhasin were doing the rounds as a probable choice for the new Komolika before the makers went down on Aamna.
In another instance, Kasautii Zindagii Kay also celebrated its one year anniversary on September 25. Aamna's anticipated entry as Komolika is sure to spice things up for them on the show.
