After being in a steady relationship for several years, the couple got engaged in August this year. In an earlier interview with The Times Of India, Ruhi said that she wanted to get married in Jaipur because both she and Shivendraa are from Rajasthan. While she is from Mukundgarh in Jhunjhunu, he is from the Pink City itself.
''Since we both are from Rajasthan, we have decided to get married in December in Jaipur, instead of Mumbai. Rajasthan, particularly Jaipur, is known for its gorgeous palace like properties for weddings,'' she had said.
Revealing the details of their love story, Ruhi had shared, "Shivendraa and I have been friends for 13 years, but the thought of marrying each other never crossed our minds till our families suggested it. My father met his father and things fell into place. So, despite knowing each other for so long, we are getting into an arranged marriage (smiles)."
She had further shared, "I had a major crush on him when I had just met him. However, we fell madly in love after our parents decided to get us married. He is totally unlike me — calm, level-headed and simple. That’s what I like the best about him."
Ruhi and Shivendraa will not host a reception in Mumbai for their industry friends, as she already had a lavish engagement party on August 17.
