After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, its time for a Bollywood actress to star to join Bear Grylls in his most popular reality show, Man Vs Wild and soon Indian skipper will follow suit. After Narendra Modi’s special episode that aired in August 2019 recorded highest-ever ratings in the infotainment genre and catapulted Discovery channel (3.05 million impressions) to No. 3 position for the week, seems like the channel has taken in on their stride to rope in more popular Indian celebs to feature in the television series where the host and the guest is left stranded in a wild terrain with his film crew and has to find a way back to civilization as the episode documents his survival strategies.
As per a report in The New Indian Express, the 14-part series of the show will soon be shot with actor Deepika Padukone and Virat Kohli among others. Grylls has already shot with superstar Rajinikanth for about six hours in the core forest area for the second and third episodes.
Meanwhile, Akshay reached the Rampur Elephant Camp in Mullehole forest range and shot for about three hours with Grylls, walking in the stream inside the forest, sitting near bushes, and under a tree. Despite five locations finalised by the crew, the shooting took place in only two, and they wound up with Kumar walking out of knee-deep water in the stream.

Prior to Akshay, Rajinikanth also joined Grylls in an episode for Man vs Wild in Mysuru. The shoot was halted with reports claiming that the superstar had been injured which was later refuted by T Balachandra, the reserve’s director and conservator of forests told IANS, “It is all false. As per the screenplay, there was a shot in which Rajinikanth had to fall, so while getting down from the rope, he just fell down and everybody rushed. It was all in the screenplay.”
