The fourteenth season of popular stunt based reality series MTV Roadies has come to an end and Shweta Mehta has emerged as the winner of the show. Shweta, who belonged to Neha Dhupia's gang, won 'MTV Roadies Rising' after beating Baseer Ali from Prince Narula in the grand finale.
Indeed, it was a proud moment for Shweta, who happens to be an engineer by profession. Mehta admitted that she was confident enough to win the show from the beginning. “Everybody comes in the show to win and I too participated with the same aspirations. I just wanted people to realise that there is nothing a girl can’t do and here I am. It was such a proud moment for me to see Neha ma’am glowing with joy when my name was announced. I had told her that when I reach the finale, I want her stylist to do my hair We both kept our promise. Roadies was a dream run that has given me confidence and I am raring to go now,” Shweta Mehta told Indian Express.
Apart from being an engineer, Mehta is also a known face in the fitness industry and has also won the Jerai Women’s Fitness Model Championship 2016.
Interestingly, Shweta was quite keen to be a part of MTV Roadies for a long time now and auditioned thrice before she made it to the fourteenth season of the reality show.
“I had auditioned for Roadies thrice in the past but did not make it to the show. But failing thrice did not dampen my spirit. I took the challenge head- on and auditioned again, only with the intention of winning the show. And I did win it! This definitely feels amazing. Roadies is a cult show and being associated with such a show and winning it feels out of the world. Neha ma’am wanted a girl to win this season and I feel proud that I didn’t disappoint her,” she added.
The MTV Roadies has indeed become a star post her victory on the reality show and is said to be beaming with offers from the showbiz industry. However, Shweta is determined to stick to her fitness industry as of now.
"I am already getting calls for work from the entertainment industry but I want to focus on fitness as that’s my passion," she said.
