In these gloomy times of Coronavirus pandemic, the mythological show got family members together to watch the show they cherished years back after it was aired at 9 am on DD National on Saturday. Netizens that includes Union Minister Prakash Javdekar to actress Kajal Agarwal celebrated the moment with new found hysteria.

The announcement of broadcasting the old episodes of Ramayan and Mahabharat was made by Information and Broadcasting Minister on Friday. The Union Minister took to Twitter to inform about the ministry's decision. In response to Javadekar's announcement, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar thanked him for his 'guidance'. In a series of tweets, Shekhar also expressed his gratitude for the Sagar family for their contribution.
The announcement comes after the social media witnessed a deluge of posts by users demanding the rerun of the mythology-based shows such as Ramayana and Mahabharata during the coronavirus lockdown.
