Television actress Reema Lagoo's sudden death has come as a shock to the entire tinselvile. However, it was the makers of Star Plus' popular daily soap 'Naamkarann' who were most affected with Reema's demise as the veteran actress was playing the lead antagonist Dayawanti Mehta in the show. Reema had breathed her last on Thursday due to cardiac arrest.
But looks like the makers of 'Naamkarann' have found a replacement for the late actress. According to the media reports, Ragini Shah has been roped in as the replacement of Reema Lagoo. The media reported suggest that Shah was finalised just after a single screen test. Reportedly, the actress had already shot her first episode of 'Naamkarann' and has taken over the show from the point where Reema was gunned down.

Interestingly, Ragini Shah is not a new face on Indian television and has been popular for playing the role Bhabho’s mother-in-law in ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.
Talking about 'Naamkarann', the show is going through an interesting twist, where Dayawanti will get to know that instead of her grand daughter Riya (played by Nalini Negi), it is her illegitimate grand-daughter Avni who has married Neil (played by Zain Imam).
