After drooling people over a bunch of power packed performances for months Punjabi singer Bannet Dosanjh became the winner of India's first ever interactive singing reality show 'Rising Star'.
Yes! Beating Maithili Thakur and Ankita Kundu by a close margin Bannet snatched the coveted title of the night.
Being amazed Dosanjh was quoted while interacting to a leading daily and saying, "This is unbelievable. I feel I am living a dream right now. I will live up to the title and work harder now".
Along with a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh and much awaited winner's trophy, the Punjabi boy got the first break of his Bollywood career in forthcoming venture Vishes Films led by Mahesh Bhatt.

While Maithili Thakur was defeated only by two votes, Ankita Kundu became the second runner up with a comperatively much lower percentage of votes.

Being Anil Kapoor the special attraction of the show, celebs like Shankar Mahadevan, Diljit Dosanjh and Monali Thakur were seen sitting on the mentor's chair.
Rising the excitement level up the 'Mr India' actor made a sparkling entry to the show followed by the DVD launch of the second season of his popular TV series 24.
Lastly, the show came to an end with a vote of thanks to its wonderful audince and shaking legs with tunes of 'Chakde India'.
