In order to provide entertaining shows to tap Indian women viewers, Star Plus is coming up with four shows - a sequel to 'Diya Aur Baati Hum', an adaptation of popular Turkish show "Fatmagul", a love story and story of a small kid.
The show "Diya Aur Baati Hum" by Shashi-Sumeet Productions will return with a sequel - 'Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh, Piyaji'. The sequel marks the homecoming of popular character Bhabho with the next generation of the Rathi family, a press release issued at Mumbai said.
Also, a Turkish show that has been winning hearts ofviewers worldwide titled "Fatmagul" will be adapted in India titled 'Kya Kasoor Hai Amla Ka?', the release said. The story tackles complex emotions and a sensitive subject of violation of the innocence of a woman.
The show is set in scenic Dharamshala and is being remade with Indian sensibilities, it said. "Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee by Ved Raj and Dheeraj Sarna isa story of God's special child, a girl who brings a fresh andunique perspective on faith. Then there is a love story, "Dhhai Kilo Prem", being made by Sandiip Sikcand in collaboration with Balaji Telefilms.
The four shows offer powerful characters and entertaining stories which are sure to make afternoons a special time of the day for Indian women in the 'Star Plus Dopahar' slot between 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm from April 3, the release said.
"We, at Star Plus, are constantly striving to reframeand reinvent Hindi entertainment television. There is asizeable television viewing audience in the afternoon.Currently the only options available to these viewers arerepeat telecasts," Narayan Sundararaman, General Manager,Star Plus, said in a statement at Mumbai.
