Kolkata’s Prity Bhattacharjee has bagged the trophy of Superstar Singer. Along with the title, Prity took home a cheque of Rs. 15 lakhs. She defeated five other contestants — Mauli, Sneha Shankar, Harshit Nath, Ankona Mukherjee, and Nishtha Sharma to clinch the trophy.
The event was a resplendent, fun-filled affair. In the finale, all the three judges - Alka Yagnik, Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali entertained the audiences by giving enthralling performances of their songs. The captains also joined them in delivering mesmerising performances.
During an exclusive interaction with the TimesofIndia.com, Prity shared that she wants to playback for Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone as she likes her. She even said that she likes Lata Mangeshkar, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, and others. Prity further mentioned that her mentor Nitin Kumar is quite interesting and helped in grooming.
The next season of Indian Idol will replace Superstar Singer on television. Anu Malik will return to the show after being asked to leave, owing to sexual harassment allegations against him. Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani will also be judging the show. The auditions have already begun and the show will premiere next weekend onwards.
