On Tuesday, there were reports that Rajinikanth had suffered minor injuries during the shooting of an episode of 'Man vs Wild' with Bear Grylls at the Bandipur Reserve in Karnataka. The actor had twisted his ankle, police sources said. Forest officials said the shooting had to be stopped midway following the incident, adding that the actor was fine. "The shooting has been called off for the day for his safety. There is no permission for shooting on January 29 with the actor," a forest official said.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajinikanth is all set to feature in the show. The actor, along with the wanderer, known for his daredevilry in traversing and surviving in some of the most treacherous terrains in the world, have begun filming in the Bandipur woods, noted for its tiger reserve and biodiversity. Sources close to the actor told PTI that he left on Monday to Mysore for the shoot and is expected to complete it soon and return to the city.
Last August, wildly viral episode of Man vs Wild featured PM Narendra Modi. There were rumours that the episode was shot and edited several times. However, Pm Modi cleared the air during his ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme. Quashing doubts whether his ‘Man vs. Wild’ episode with Grylls was “edited or shot multiple times” as the two engaged freely in Hindi and English, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said technology helped bridge the communication gap between them.
On August 12, 2019, the Prime Minister was seen trudging on an unbeaten path with TV adventure icon Bear Grylls on his super-successful show ‘Man vs Wild’. The TV host took to his official Facebook page to make the announcement. “People across 180 countries will get to see the unknown side of PM Narendra Modi as he ventures into Indian wilderness to create awareness about animal conservation & environmental change. Catch Man Vs Wild with PM Modi Discovery Channel India on August 12 @ 9 pm. #PMModionDiscovery,” Grylls had said on his Facebook wall.
