Now, it seems like the content of television should also go through some censor board authority after the controversy of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ started by Akshay Kumar.
It all started when the super judge Akshay Kumar, who on extraordinary performance ‘rings the bell’ either silver or golden depending upon the act of the contestant by climbing on the platform. But, some of the words by Akshay offended one of the judge Mallika Dua’s father Vinod Dua.
Recently, Vinod Dua slammed Akshay Kumar citing his sexist remark. He wrote, "I am going to screw this cretin Akshay Kumar for telling his co-worker (Mallika Dua) that 'Aap bell bajao, main aap ko bajata hun (You ring the bell, I will bang you)’ at 5:26. This is his sense of humour and language. Star Plus. Wake up’’.
Regarding the tweet by Vinod Dua,, Mallika wrote "So, I want humour to be limitless. I also don't want to be uncomfortable at my workplace. The lines are blurred."
For the ongoing controversy regarding one of the remark by Akshay Kumar, her wife Twinkle Khanna back him by sharing a post backing him up.
She also shared the particular clip of the show and wrote "Hey! Quick question. Does anyone find 5:26 funny? Charming? Entertaining? Family entertainment. GEC’’.
In her tweet, she wrote, "I would like to address the controversy on the sets of 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge'. The show has a bell which the judges ring after a contestant's exceptional performance and (when) Dua went forward to ring the bell, Kumar said, 'Mallika ji aap bell bajao main aap ko bajata hun (You ring the bell, I will bang you)'.
She further added and said, "A pun on the words and actions related to ringing the bell. It's a colloquial phrase that both men and women use -- for instance, 'I am going to bajao him/her' or 'I got bajaoed’’.
