Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie 'Padman', which has been the talk of the town since inception, has finally locked a release date and will hit the screens in April 2018.
The superstar, who has been quite excited to be a part of the movie, took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the first poster and release date of the movie.
He retweeted wife Twinkle Khanna's tweet and wrote, "Mark your calendars! Mrsfunnybones and R. Balki's Padman releasing on 13th April 2018! @PadManTheFilm".

In the poster, Akki is seen riding a bicycle on the ghats of Banaras. The movie is said to be a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is famously known as the India’s 'Menstruation Man' and the superstar will be seen portraying the role on the big screen. Arunachalam is known to have found a cost-effective solution for sanitation for women during 'that time of the month'.
Helmed by R.Balki, 'Padman' happens to be a Twinkle Khanna production and stars Radhika Apte as Akshay's wife in the movie. The movie also stars Sonam Kapoor in a key role.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is busy promoting his upcoming movie 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' opposite Bhumi Pednekar.Â
Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie is said to be inspired from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachch Bharat Abhiyan'. The movie is scheduled to release on August 11.
