Making an entry to the Oscar’s documentary feature 2019 will be Nirmal Chander’s documentary film titled, ‘Moti Bagh’. Based on 83-year-old farmer Vidyadutt in Uttarakhand from Pauri district, the doc will take viewers into the lives of the farmer who works towards sustaining himself in harsh conditions of the Himalayas.
Trivendra Singh Rawat, chief minister of Uttarakhand said, "We are proud of the fact that a story from our state got nominated for such prestigious award. I congratulate the people behind the project."

Showing a grim reality of mass migration and disturbing proportions, Rawat said the film will inspire youths to stay in their villages and work for their communities. "It will help stop migrations from remote areas," he said.
The director of the documentary, Nirmal Chander, commenting on the development said, "We tried to highlight issues of the Himalayan state through a farmer. I am happy the team worked hard enough to achieve this feat."
