New Delhi:

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has brought the rights of the graphic novel, Rakshak to bring the life of its superhero to silver screen. Recently after reports of Ranveer Singh featuring as Nagraj, popular Indian superhero with supernatural powers made noise, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta announced that he is all set to bring the Rakshak hero to cinemas.

White Feather Films has bought the rights of the graphic novel Rakshak from Yali Dream Creations Ceo and Publisher Asvin Sirvastangam.

Sanjay confirmed the news by sharing some photos of the graphic novel and wrote, “So proud and happy to announce that my company White Feather Films has acquired the rights for RAKSHAK. A thrilling graphic novel about a vigilante superhero. This is India’s first graphic novel to be made into a massive & ambitious feature film to be directed by me.&rdquo

The filmmaker further said he has always wanted to create my own superhero franchise and Rakshak came along the right time. “We have a dearth in this genre” said the actor.  The filmmaker who is now filming Mumbai Saga starring John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Ronit Roy among others.

Rakshak is a vigilante sans superpower. The uniqueness of Rakshak as a vigilante comes from the fact that he is an ex-Indian army marine commando or MARCO, equivalent to US Navy Seals.

With Nagraj and now Rakshak Bollywood is all set to build a kingdom of movies on super heroes that is rich blend of mythology, fantasy, magic and science fiction.
