Kangana Ranaut's Simran: CBFC orders ten cuts

New Delhi:

Kangana Ranaut's Simran has become the talk of the town due to its interesting storyline.

For all those fans, who are waiting for the film's release, there's some not so good news. According to media reports, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has ordered ten cuts in the movie, which has been accepted by the makers. The word 'bitch' has been removed from six places.

The filmmakers were told to remove the word 'bastard' along with a reference to the Muslim community. One of the scenes will be deleted where reference to the community has been made.

If this was not all, the makers were asked to reduce the loud moaning sound during the sex scene. The board felt the sex scene should be toned down because the sound effect made it appear more provocative than it actually was.

CBFC instructed the makers to subdue some of the violent scenes. They were told to mellow down the sound effects of a slap scene.

Every Bollywood film has to pass through CBFC's radar and Simran too faced the burnt at the hands of the censor board.

Simran is directed by Hansal Mehta who has movies like 'Aligarh' and 'City Lights' to his credit. The trailer of the film created a lot of anticipation amongst the fanatics. It will be released on Friday, September 15.

Kangana plays the role of a Gujarati girl who has a gambling problem. The actress is currently on a promotion spree and is seen making appearances on different platforms.

The movie was caught in controversy when the makers were accused by writer Apurva Asrani for not giving due credit.
